EVERY LITTLE COUNTS

I’m a believer in doing something about things that trouble me. I am particular drawn to charities that need help and that support those who are vulnerable. But I don’t just donate (a portion of my income every year goes to charity), I also attend fundraisers – especially those that can be uncomfortable like sleeping rough to raise money for the homeless.

Another, cause I am passionate about is Mental Health. this is why, I am currently in the process of setting up a Community Interest Company that will focus on supporting the most vulnerable in society. Access too Mental Health support, should NOT be a postcode lottery. My Charity will support all those who have difficulty accessing mental health support whether that be through financial difficulties or as I say, live in the wrong post code.

And finally, I believe in our youth and will continue too support charities that through it’s work, enable children to improve their future as well as their present..

Swap your briefcase for a sleeping bag for one night to help others.

  • On average, homeless people die at just 47 years old.
  • People sleeping on the street are almost 17 times more likely to have been victims of violence. More than one in three people sleeping rough have been deliberately hit or kicked or experienced some other form of violence whilst homeless.
  • Homeless people are over 7 times more likely to take their own life than the general population.

CEO Sleepout is a charity set up to fight homelessness and poverty. Our fight is funded with money raised by executives who sleep outdoors for one night to raise sponsorship from their business contacts and friends. We’re holding events across the UK in 2018 and are recruiting business leaders, community leaders, owners, managers, execs and anyone who thinks they can raise a significant amount of funds, and who are willing giving up just one night of comfort. Will you join us?

Knutsford First Response

I have supported the Community First Responders for over 10 years since I moved to Knutsford. I was approached by them whilst campaigning to become a local Councillor to help with their campaign against being downgraded. I took this fight on and liaised with George Osborne and Edward Timpson MP and thankfully managed to eradicate that threat.

I have absolute admiration for the volunteers who give up so much time responding to 999 incidents and keeping the people of Knutsford safe. I am also incredibly proud that Knutsford is among the few towns that have more defibrillators than most other towns in the UK – an initiative started by the first responders and now they run regular heart start courses across the town.

Employability UK

The mission of EmployabilityUK is to facilitate employer engagement to enhance the aspirations, opportunities and career prospects of enthusiastic and committed young people.

As an education charity, we believe the best way to bring sustainable employer engagement and first class professional employability skills to schools, colleges and youth organisations is by working with them to understand their individual needs and the aspirations of their learners and their parents. We offer support and fresh ideas, ensuring they can offer the very best employability skills training with practical experience.

We design bespoke employability skills programmes for businesses to provide high quality employee volunteering opportunities. With something for everyone, no matter what their own job may be, our programmes are fun and rewarding, giving individuals the flexibility to decide how much or how little time they want to give.

By forging strong partnerships, we provide immediate and long term support, helping to improve the employability skills of young people, raise their confidence and help prepare them for the workplace
